Wellbeing Day 1 - Highlights & Photos

Wellbeing Day Inclusion

Inclusion: Building Belonging

Our first Wellbeing Day of the year was nothing short of amazing! Centred around one of our core school values, Inclusion, the theme of Building Belonging came to life through a day filled with laughter, teamwork, creativity, and new experiences.

Students from all year levels embraced the opportunity to connect, try something new, and reflect on what makes us feel welcome and valued in our community. Each activity was designed to support not just our sense of belonging but also our overall wellbeing鈥攚hether through movement, mindfulness, creativity, or simply sharing joyful moments with friends.

Here鈥檚 a glimpse of some of the incredible experiences our students enjoyed:

  • 🐍 Animals Anonymous 鈥 Excitement buzzed as students got up close with some of Australia鈥檚 most fascinating creatures, including snakes, quokkas, tawny frogmouths, lizards, and a sugar glider.
  • 🥄 Baking Bonanza 鈥 The sweet aroma of fresh lemonade scones filled the air as our Primary students baked together, while Secondary students crafted delicious samosas with mango chutney鈥攕haring food, culture, laughter, and teamwork.
  • 🧩 Escape Room Challenge 鈥 Hearts raced as students worked together to crack puzzles and escape a thrilling plane mystery!
  • 🥁 African Drumming 鈥 The energy was electric as students drummed, danced, and sang, feeling the rhythm of connection, culture, and community.
  • 🌿 Nature Quest 鈥 Stepping into nature, students walked from OAC Marden Campus along Linear Park, soaking in the beauty of the outdoors and discovering how time in nature nurtures our wellbeing.
  • 🎭 Clay Creations 鈥 Students brought their ideas to life through clay animation, sharing stories and artistic expression.
  • 💙 Friendship Bracelets 鈥 Hands busily strung together beads, creating unique bracelets and strengthening bonds between friends.
  • &#虫1蹿3肠产;锔 Power Up Gym Workshop 鈥 Our Years 9-12 students hit the gym, learning from a personal trainer and feeling the mental and physical benefits of movement.
  • 🏉 Kick and Catch: AFL Skills 鈥 Cheers filled the air as students of all ages learned footy skills, worked as a team and celebrated each other's efforts.
  • 🍵 Tea Time Magic 鈥 A peaceful and enriching moment as our Japanese teacher shared the beauty of a traditional tea ceremony with mochi and a fun cultural quiz.

The day was a powerful reminder that wellbeing isn鈥檛 just about feeling good鈥攊t鈥檚 about feeling connected. Through shared experiences, laughter, and learning, we strengthened our sense of belonging and made memories that will last far beyond the day itself.

Here鈥檚 to more moments of joy, inclusion, and wellbeing in the year ahead!
