This course is compulsory for all Year 10 students. This subject leads to a range of English subject choices at Stage 1.
You will take an analytical approach to the study of a variety of texts such as novels, plays, films, poetry, and online texts. You will also create your own texts.
You will undertake a broad range of tasks which reflect your understanding of the purpose, structure and meaning of texts (responding to texts) and your ability to effectively organise your thoughts and use language accurately and appropriately (creating texts).
